PHARMACEUTICALS FOR TREATING ACUTE PAIN AND ITS PREPARATION

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject pharmaceutical agent composed of a soft gelatin capsule containing ibuprofen and codeine in a state partially dissolved and suspended in a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-diol and effective especially for mitigating the tumor pain and the postoperative pain. CONSTITUTION: This soft gelatin capsule contains 30-50 pts.wt. of ibuprofen and 1.5-4 pts.wt. of codeine in a state partially dissolved and partially suspended in 68.5-46 pts.wt. of a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-diol or in a mixture containing 30-76 pts.wt. of a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-diol, polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol and 7-40 pts.wt. of a physiologically compatible surfactant. The surfactant is e.g. a polyoxyethylene-glycerol-trihydroxystearate or a polyoxyethylene-(12-18C)aliphatic alcohol ether.
