PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in raw preservability, having fast thermal response and improved in image stability after thermal recording by adding a specific compound into a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a recording layer containing a diazo compound and a coupling component is provided on a support, the recording layer contains a compound represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are respectively a methyl group, a methoxy group or a halogen atom). As an embodiment of this compound, benzamide substituted at its 2,6- positions with such as 2,6-difluorobenzamide is useful. This thermal recording material has high thermal sensitivity and can perform high speed thermal recording at low temp. and can be suitably used in various thermal recordings because fixing can be performed by decomposing the unreacted diazo compound by exposure after thermal printing. |
