Devices for immobilizing a retractable sonar (102-104) in the housing (101) into which the sonar is withdrawn and which is attached to the hull (100) of the boat are described. An array of inflatable buoyancy chambers (110) are provided between the body (102) of the sonar and the inner surface of the housing (101). A device (109) is also provided for inflating these buoyancy chambers so that, by taking their bearing on the body and the inside of the housing, they immobilize these two members in relation to one another. A simple, low-cost and corrosion-resistant immobilizing device can thereby be manufactured.
