Such a lighting unit is of the type including a closure glass (lens) (15) for a reflector or mirror (13) in which a lamp (14) is placed, the light rays from which are reflected by the said mirror (13) and pass through the glass (15) in order to constitute a light beam whose orientation is obtained by adjustment means (29) acting on the said lighting unit (12). According to the invention, it is characterised in that linkage and articulation means (20) consist of a flexible cover strip (moulding) (26) covering peripheral end parts (27, 28) in the shape of a chicane (baffle) (34, 35), of the reflector (13) and of the glass (15) respectively, so as to allow their relative displacement and constitute a leaktight closure. <IMAGE>
