The present invention relates to a device for manually controlling a parking brake. The device is characterised in that abutment means (3a) secured to a lever (3) are made to bear when the latter is actuated in an active clamping direction, against a fixed part located in the vicinity of the plane containing the two axes of pivoting (11) and of articulation (4) and in that a spring (18) is hooked in the vicinity of this plane onto the lever (3) and onto a fixed part (19) so that its line of action passes from one side of this plane to the other during the displacement of the two levers (1) and (3) in the active direction.
