PURPOSE:To enable the preservation of a food and the quick preparation of instant pickles by using a container maintainable in gas-tight state and providing the container with a small-sized manually operated suction pump and a vessel having a vent valve which opens in the case of sucking the air in the container and closes with the atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:A food is put into a container 1, a lid 2 is put on the container and the lower end of e.g. a manually-operated suction pump (b) is brought into contact with the pump-fitting part of a vessel (a) having a valve. A piston rod (g) of the pump is vertically reciprocated by gripping a handle 8. The valve 6 is lifted by the upward motion of the piston rod (g) to suck the air in the container 1 and the sucked air discharged from the pump by the action of the valve mechanism 23 in the pump 7 by the downward motion of the rod. Once the space in the container 1 is evacuated, the valve 6 of the container 1 is pressed with the outer atmosphere to keep the container in closed state and the air-tight state of the lid 2 is also maintained. The food in the container 1 can be preserved over a long period without causing putrefaction by placing the vessel (a) in a refrigerator. An instant pickling can be prepared in a short time by the vacuum action by putting a pickling in the vessel (a). |
