<p>PURPOSE:To enlarge a screen with a filmed liq. crystal ensuring a wide field angle by dispersing a microencapsulated liq. crystal in a polymer sheet to form the filmed liq. crystal. CONSTITUTION:An emulsion prepd. by mixing a polymer binder with a liq. crystal is applied in a sheet shape, dried and solidified to form a filmed liq. crystal 24 having a structure in which a microencapsulated liq. crystal has been dispersed in a polymer layer. When the filmed liq. crystal 24 is used, the interval between lower and upper transparent substrates 10, 17 is maintained by the liq. crystal 24 itself, a field angle is widened and polarizing plates are made unnecessary for image display to clear a screen. Since such a special character of the liq. crystal 24 as rapid responsiveness to driving is exhibited as it is, high-quality image display is enabled even in the case of an enlarged screen.</p> |
