IMPROVED MECHANISM FOR FEEDING METALLIC STRIP MATERIAL An apparatus for advancing a continuous strip of metallic material to a metal forming machine such as a punch press includes a first pair of reciprocating, non-reversing roller grippers for advancing the strip in prescribed increments. The reciprocating rollers are controlled by means of the incremental rotation of a longitudinally-oriented lead screw, in turn controlled by a servomechanism. A programmable numerical control system selectively varies the incremental rotation of the lead screw, thereby determining the length of advancement of the metal strip.
