PURPOSE:To shorten waiting time from closing a switch to printing operation by decreasing time required for melting ink by a method wherein a fin for transfer of heat is provided in an ink tank containing the ink. CONSTITUTION:An inside of a head frame 1 is partitioned into two chambers with a partition wall 13 having a communication path 13a at its lower part, and one chamber becomes an ink reservoir tank 14. This reservoir tank 14 contains ink 16. A fin for transfer of heat 18 is provided to an inner wall of the tank 14, and heaters 2, 3 are provided to a bottom part of the head frame 1. Where solid ink 16' is newly put into the ink tank 14, the solid ink 16' starts to be melted from a part 16a coming in contact with a fin 18 installed in the ink tank 14. The melted ink enters a clearance of the fin 18, and a contact area between the ink and the fin 18 increases rapidly. Therefore, melting time is shortened and besides, the solid ink is uniformly liquefied. |
