PURPOSE:To allow scrupulous performance by driving and stopping a string oscillation detecting means along the longitudinal direction of a string by a driving means, such as step motor, which operates with the operation of an operating means. CONSTITUTION:The step motor 25 as the driving means drives the string oscillation detecting means 23 along the longitudinal direction while the operating means is kept operated when the operating means is operated. The step motor stops and the string oscillation detecting means stops in this position when the operation of the operating means is canceled. A player is, therefore, able to easily and instantaneously set the position of the string oscillation detecting means 23 by operating the operating means before or during the performance. The immediate setting of the position selection of the string oscillation detecting means 23 with which the timbres meeting music are obtainable is facilitated in this way and the scrupulous performance changing the timbres even during the performance is possible. |
