PURPOSE:To produce the high-performance polyanilines having a good film quality in a short time by firstly applying constant-current electrolytic polymerization to a polyaniline monomer in a solvent and successively applying constant- potential electrolytic polymerization. CONSTITUTION:The aniline monomer is electrolytically polymerized in a solvent such as water to obtain polyanilines. In this production of polyanilines by electrolytic polymerization, constant-current electrolytic polymerization is firstly applied at the current of about 0.5-50mA/cm<2>. When the coating of the polyanilines is completed and the electrode potential decreases, the process is switched to constant-potential electrolytic polymerization and continued. In this case, the polymerization potential is set at 0.55-0.8 VvsSCE. Consequently, the poly anilines excellent in mechanical strength, uniform in the film quality and insoluble in a nonaqueous solvent is obtained. |
