Dyeing or printing of textile substrates, esp. those contg. polyester, with disperse dyestuffs is carried out with a dyebath or printing ink contg. cyclodextrin(s) and/or deriv(s). as ancillary (I). (I) is used in a concn. of 0.01-10, pref. 0.03-3 wt.% in the dyebath or ink. Suitable (I) are cyclodextrin with 5-12 glucose units, esp. alpha-, beta-and/or gamma-cyclodextrins and/or their derivs. Pref. (I) is a mixt. of alpha-, beta- and gamma-cyclodextrins, each in a concn. of 3-30 wt.%; of beta-cyclodextrin and/or a deriv. of this; and mixts. of these with linear dextrins and/or their derivs., pref. with a mol. wt. of 400-2000, esp. 900-1400. The pref. derivs. are dextrin ethers and esters, sulphated, sulphonated and/or halogenated dextrins, dextrin ethers and esters and/or alkylated derivs. of these. USE/ADVANTAGE - Level dyeing and prints are obtd. in short dyeing or steaming times.
