<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a compact chip clearing device which can be prepared in a short time by engaging the connecting means of a nozzle holder in the locking portion of an arbor to thereby connect a main spindle to a clearing means, and moving the main spindle in X,Y and Z directions by means of an existing controller. CONSTITUTION:An arbor 2 stored in a magazine 12 is mounted to the inside of a main spindle 8 by an automatic tool exchanger 7 and compressed air is introduced into the air cylinder 27 of a moving means 5 and a rod 29 is moved at high speed to move a nozzle holder 3 toward the main spindle 8. A locking portion 24 formed in the upper portion of the nozzle holder 3 is locked to the locking portion 19 of the arbor 2 and the nozzle holder 3 is suspended from and supported to the arbor 2, and so a compact cylinder 25 is operated to fix the nozzle holder 3 to the arbor 2. The main spindle 8 is moved to a desired position on a table so that the nozzle 20 of the nozzle holder 3 is set in a position at which the nozzle 20 faces chip; a cleaning device 4 is driven to absorb chip on the table to clean the table.</p> |
