PURPOSE:To accurately detect the fullness of a recovery container without having the influence of a fluctuation with the lapse of time, an environmental fluctuation, variance by means of a machine, etc., by detecting the number of times of replacements of a toner supplying container corresponding to the fullness of toner in a recovery container by means of a calculating means, and the fullness of the recovery container. CONSTITUTION:When the toner is consumed, a replacement detecting means 20 detects that a toner supplying container 18 is replaced. The calculating means 22 calculates the number of times of detected replacements and a prescribed number of times of replacements corresponding to the fullness of the recovery container 14 and then transmits it as a signal. In this case, when plural toner supplying containers having different capacity are provided, the number of times of replacements are calculated in consideration for the ratio of the capacity of each container. Thus, the fullness of the recovery container 14 can be correctly detected, and the gross consumption of toner is correctly calculated. |
