The invention relates to a magnetic card lock (1) with a key card (8) which can be inserted into an insert shaft with gripping opening (107). The key card is first inserted up to a stop position in which the key code is requested, and can then be moved into the second stop position along an actuating path. For ease of manipulation, a visibly stepped first partial surface (101) which covers the entire surface in the second stop position of the gripping opening (107) is arranged at the front of the surface of the broad side of the key card on its end farther from the insert opening.
