In the process for recycling sulphuric acid from diluted acid, which arises in the manufacture of titanium dioxide by the sulphate process, to the digestion of titanium raw material by evaporation of the diluted acid to such a concentration that a 60 to 70% sulphuric acid is separated from the solid metal sulphates after cooling to a temperature below 70 DEG C, and this 60 to 70% sulphuric acid, which still contains dissolved metal sulphates, is concentrated to a concentration of 70 to 85% by weight of H2SO4. The invention also relates to a metal sulphate suspension and to the use thereof in the manufacture of titanium dioxide.
|
