A directly motor-driven spindle assembly comprises rotary shaft means (5) having one end supported on bearing means (2,4) and the other end connected to a load(11,12), driving means (20) fixed to the rotary shaft means (5) to drive the rotary shaft means (5) for rotation, and control means(14,41,42)for controlling the movement of the rotary shaft means (5) toward the side of the load (11,12) according to the movement of the rotary shaft means (5) from a predetermined position. The control means (14,41,42) prevents the jumping motion of the rotary shaft means (5) liable to occur as the load (11,12) increases to enable the directly motor-driven spindle assembly to operate at a high rotating speed. <IMAGE> |
