DEVICE FOR COMBINING SURGICAL NEEDLE AND GUT AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity of providing a hole in the shaft part of a suture needle and the necessity of inserting a suture into this hole by applying the energy to an elastic tube so that the tube is engaged with the shaft part of the suture needle and the suture. CONSTITUTION: An elastic tube 20 is arranged in the periphery of a suture 30 and the periphery of a shaft part 12 of a suture needle 10 at the same time. The elastic tube 20 is firstly fixed to the shaft part 12. After engaging the tube 20 with the shaft part 12, the suture 30 is inserted into the tube 20, and the energy is applied to the tube 20. The tube 20 is contracted in order so that the used variable of the energy at the time of fixing the tube 20 to the shaft part 12 and the suture 30 can be changed. The elastic tube 20 is made of the material, with which diameter of the tube 20 is reduced in response to the applied variable of energy, and the material of the tube 20 includes the storage metal such as nickel-titanium mixture.
