PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode material having heat resistance, chemical stability, heat-shock resistance, and large energy density by reacting a mixture of boron source gas, carbon source gas, nitrogen source gas, and carrier gas by a CVD method. CONSTITUTION:A CVD method is conducted at 500 deg.C or higher. The reaction product has the layer structure of uniform compound [BCN(C)] of boron, nitrogen and/or hydrogen in addition to carbon, and forms a lithium intercalation compound similar to graphite. By the control of an ingredient, the degree of interaction can be controlled. A battery using this electrode material has low closed circuit voltage in discharge and large energy density. |
