PURPOSE:To enable a current lead to be forcibly cooled by a cooling gas used for cooling a superconducting device so as to make the device simple and compact in structure as a whole by a method wherein a spacer, which is used for providing a throttle flow path that connects a cooling gas intake vent with a cooling gas exhaust vent between the spacer and the periphery of a lead terminal, is provided inside a forced cooling chamber. CONSTITUTION:Cooling gas 4 supplied to a magnet cooling chamber 2 from a cooling gas supply tube 5 is made to cool a superconductive magnet 1, then introduced into a forced cooling chamber 15 from a cooling gas intake vent 16 through the intermediary of a connection tube 17, and made to cool a lead terminal 8 making a heat exchange with the lead terminal 8 while passing through a throttle flow path 19. At this point, the cooling gas 4 is accelerated in flow velocity, passing through the narrow throttle flow path 19, and the lead terminal 8 is enhanced in heat exchange area by grooves 21 provided to its peripheral face, so that the heat exchange of the cooling gas 4 flowing through the throttle flow path 19 with the lead terminal 8 is sharply enhanced in efficiency and in result the cooling gas 4 is remarkably improved in cooling efficiency to the lead terminal 8. |
