The system has an X-ray tube (1) feed from a controllable supply (29) via a transformer (2). The beam passes through the filter (26), collimator (32) and patient (5) to the input screen (20) of an image intensifier (6). The optical output beam (10) is detected by a control detector (24), film camera and a video camera (13). The video camera output is processed (27) to produce the input for video monitor (28) and a control signal fed back to the X-ray power supply (29). The output of the control detector (24) is fed back to a pump (25) which controls the concentration of X-ray absorbent liquid in the dynamic filter (26). @(12pp Dwg.No.1/4)@.
