PURPOSE:To obtain a fixed image whose solid part is dense and whose thin line part is prevented from thickened or battered by using a fixing roller whose contact surface to toner is formed to be a mirror surface and using the toner whose melt viscosity is within a comparatively small range. CONSTITUTION:In the case that a transfer material 15 on which a toner image 11 is carried is made to pass between the fixing roller and a pressurizing roller 14 which rotate in contact with each other so as to fix the toner image, a roller consisting of a metallic cylindrical body having a heat source in its inside and an elastic layer 13 whose outermost surface provided on the surface layer part of the cylindrical body is formed to be the mirror surface is used as the fixing roller. Furthermore, the melt viscosity of the toner which composes the toner image 11 is within the range of >= 1 X 10<5> poise and <= 3 X 10<6> poise at 90 deg.C, and >= 1 X 10<4> poise and < 1 X 10<5> poise at 100 deg.C. Thus, the fixed image which is excellent in the density of the solid part, the reproducibility of the thin line and transparency is obtained. |
