The invention relates to a device for real-time debugging of microprocessor applications, designed around a novel architecture. The device, according to the invention, comprises principally a microprocessor board connected to a computer and whose debugger is split into two parts, one "real time" placed into the memories of the board, and the other "non-real time" situated in the computer. The invention also provides for a special-purpose connector whose role is to substitute for a conventional real-time emulation probe.
