The thermal circuit breaker for electrically-heated appliances comprises a heating plate, this circuit breaker including a switch (23, 24) for the electrical power supply circuit to this heating plate, a fusible material housed in a cavity formed in this heating plate, and a transmission rod (21) in contact with the fusible material and with the switch (23, 24) keeping the latter in the closed position counter to the action of a return spring. The switch (23, 24) is linked by construction with the thermostat (1) of the appliance. Use especially in electric smoothing irons. <IMAGE>
