PURPOSE:To easily transfer a dye in use to a transfer medium even if a thermal energy is applied for a short time and to obtain a high density and superior fastnesses, esp. shelf stability and resistance to discoloring and fading, by using a dye having a specific structure. CONSTITUTION:A dye shown by a formula I is incorporated in a dye holding layer. In the formula 1, R1 and R2 represent substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, and an atom or atomic group forming a 5- or 6-member ring with X, which may be the same or different; R1 and R2 may form a 5- or 6- member ring which may contain oxygen atom or nitrogen atom; and R3 and R4 represent substd. or unsubstd. phenyl, naphthyl, or heterocyclic group containing at least one oxygen atom, nitrogen atom, or sulfur atom, which may be the same or different, but R3 and R4 are not phenyl groups at the same time. In this manner, a recording image can be formed with superior color- forming density, sharpness, and various fastnesses, esp. shelf stability and resistance to discoloring and fading. |
