The electrical energy converter is of the type comprising, between two power supply rails at the output of a rectifier bridge (R+, R-), an oscillating circuit under the control of switches and consisting of inductors and of a magnetic circuit for transfer (TR) in combination with switching capacitors. The coupling of the inductors (B1) (B2) (B3) (B4) is determined so as to work, at will, either on the forward current wave, or on the reverse current wave depending on application and on the shapes of current waves which it is desired to generate in the load controlled by the magnetic transfer circuit (TR). <IMAGE>
