The wheel chair of the invention is remarkable in the respect, that it incorporates three or more link units between the lateral frames (R), each link unit comprising two linking arms (1, 2) connected in a common junction point between the two lateral frames. The junction point comprises two parallel lateral plates (3), between which the linking arms (1,2) are swingably suspended in mutually displaced swinging planes. In their unfolded position the two linking arms (1,2) intersect, the swing journal of the first arm (1) forming a stop face for the second arm (2) and vice versa. The linking arms (1,2) are provided with toothed wheel segments (11) in mesh. This mesh or engagement of the teeth secures a synchronization of the movements of the two arms (1,2) when the chair is folded or unfolded. By simultaneously establishig not-bendable connections between the junction points, effective guidance in parallel of the two lateral frames (R) is obtained, when the chair is folded. This guidance in parallel is a prerequisite of the correct movement of the link mechanism, i.e. the link mechanism should not be turning over or canting, when handling the chair, which would make the link bearings jam. <IMAGE> |
