Interchangeable tube screw cap - has sealing pin on plate fitting in bore in tapering boss

The interchangeable cap screws onto a hollow threaded boss on the tube. Its threaded portion is integral with a base (14). The latter has a flat underside (10), while the bore through it (15) is formed by a hollow cone extension boss (21) integral with it. The bore (29) of the cap boss ends in a narrow parallel bore (16), in which the mating sealing pin (17) on a plate (19) fits. The plate forms a seal against the end face of the boss. USE/ADVANTAGE- Replaces original seal and is easily re-sealed after use.
