PURPOSE:To obtain a Ph-free exhaust gas cleaning catalyst by carrying Nd.Ce.CuO4, CeO, alumina sol, and Pd and/or Fe on a heat-resistant inorganic oxide support such as cordierite. CONSTITUTION:Nd1-xCexCuO4 (x is an index), Ce oxide, and alumina sol are carried out the surface of a heat-resistant inorganic oxide support comprising cordierite or mullite. Then, palladium and/or iron is carried on further and thus an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is prepared. The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst has high activity to oxidize hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide in high oxygen concentration atmosphere and to decompose nitrogen monoxide in a low oxygen concentration atmosphere. The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is particular in a point of having no rhodium. |
