<p>PURPOSE:To accurately and easily judge the life of a deodorant by detecting the life of the deodorant on the basis of the developed color state of a color former by receiving the deodorant and the color former which developes a color upon the reaction with a malodorous component in a mixed state in a filter. CONSTITUTION:A deodorant 4b and a color former 4d developing a color upon the reaction with a malodorous component are provided in the deodorizing filter 4' provided in the air flow passage of an air purifier main body. For example, the color former 4d used against ammonia being the main component of a toilet smell is prepared by containing a mixture prepared by mixing phosphoric acid and thymol blue being a pH indicator in a 10:1 ratio in a polymer material such as polypropylene in a wt. ratio of about 0.1-0.5% and granulating the resulting polymer composition. As a result, the color former is reacted with the malodorous component in the air within a room to develop a color and, therefore, the life of the deodorant and the change of the deodorizing capacity thereof can be judged accurately and easily.</p> |
