Transport frame for vertical radioactive waste containers - has heavy top frame and detailed adjustment for variable sized containers and load transmission into frame

The frame (1) of a transporter for vertical nuclear waste containers has pairs of container supports (15) and (16) which at least partly enclose the container support journals. The support pairs (15) and (16) are mounted vertically above one another and are adjustable vertically toward one another on load carriers (9). Pref. the upper supports (15) have a hole (18) for the container journals and the lower supports (16) have slots (22). Rails (5) are provided for moving the frame (1) underneath a loading/unloading station and pref. for moving the frame (1) vertically. ADVANTAGE - Improved security against external shock and the ability to handle different sized containers.
