<p>A method and an apparatus for placing ready-mixed concrete in a cylindrical form to fabricate an ultra-long and large-diametered hollow concrete cylinder by utilizing centrifugal force. It has been heretofore requested but difficult to employ stiff-consistency ready-mixed concrete for said purpose so as to increase the strength of the concrete product. In order to eliminate such a disadvantage, there are employed in the apparatus a float horizontally movable in a lengthwise direction in a cylindrical form, a vibrator provided on the float, and concrete inlet ports provided at a prescribed interval in the lengthwise direction on the cylindrical form. The method includes the steps of sequentially injecting stiff-consistency ready-mixed concrete through the concrete inlet ports and telescopically moving the float in the lengthwise direction while vibrating it, thereby filling the ready-mixed concrete in the cylindrical form to form a predetermined hollow space therein and thereafter making preparations to rotatably solidify the concrete. This makes it possible to rotatably solidify a long concrete article, which heretofore could not easily be produced by employing stiff-consistency ready-mixed concrete, and to obtain a high strength hollow concrete cylinder to be employed as a supporting leg for a submarine structure or the like.</p> |
