PURPOSE:To enable reciprocal printing, by setting each of two spaced apart printing positions so that the surface of the ink layer of an ink ribbon is faced to a recording paper side. CONSTITUTION:The ink ribbon issued from the wound ribbon 67 in a supply side is sent to a direction shown by the arrow 64 and allowed to run to mutually opposite directions in directions 63, 64 for traversing the feed direction of recording paper when viewed at two spaced apart printing positions 601, 602 in the recording paper feed direction and folded back so as to allow the surface of the ink layer of the ribbon to face to the recording paper side to be wound up by the ribbon 66 in a wind-up side. This ink ribbon system is moved to a direction shown by the arrow 68 in a printing forward path along with a thermal head 21 and moved to a direction shown by the arrow 69 in a printing backward path along with said head 21 while the whole of the ink ribbon system is moved up and down in a direction shown by the arrow 603 to select the head 21 coming to the upper ribbon printing position 601 or the lower ribbon printing position 602. |
