Loudspeaker enclosure - lined with convex sound reflecting and absorbing panel(s) prevents unwanted resonance(s)

A loudspeaker enclosure has a housing to accommodate the electrical components in which the flat internal walls of the housing have convex panels attached to the surface. Pref. the convex lining panels are rounded and may be conical. Pref. the lining panels are made from a mixt. of (a) grainsa of sand with a particle size of 0.1-3 mm or a pure metal powder, Ti carbide, granular Ti-Fe, chromite powder, Pb monosilicate frit powder, flint glass powder, plutonic rock powder or ceramic powder, (b) a two-component adhesive or casting compsn. with a viscosity of 150-10000 mPa.s and (c) granulated rubber with a particle size of 0;01-1 mm or flexible PVC or polyethylene, in a mixing ratio such that more component (a) than component (b) and more component (b) than component (c) is present. USE/ADVANTAGE - The shaped lining panels reflect and absorb sound energy inside the enclosure and thus avoid unwanted resonances in the rear of the enclosure to give esp. high quality sound from the loudspeaker.
