A wiper for an ink-jet print head contains a wiper lip (10) which wipes away fouled ink droplets and an arrangement (12) for cleaning the lip surface and for removing the wiped ink and fouling residue. The wiper lip and the cleaning and removal arrangement are mounted on a common holder (11) and combined into a single funcitonal unit. A collection region (S) for the wiped ink and fouling residue is formed on the wiper lip. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, economical desgin and has good cleaning and removal characteristics.
