Optical measuring, evaluating and documentation - ascertaining tension-expansion ratio of material by filming by camera and evaluating by computer

The expansion of a sample rod is recorded by a camera as it is subjected to tension in a expansion or bending test machine. The developed film can be enlarged allowing possible measuring errors to be kept small. Separate frames of the film strip can be selected for documentation of special results and characteristics. A computer evaluates the expansion behaviour using the film provided. The computer can deal with a row of measurements, e.g. using sensors measuring changes in dimensions of the sample at various applied forces. ADVANTAGE - No mechanical measuring errors.
