PURPOSE:To obtain a light-scattering filmlike object which can show both high light scattering properties and light transmitting properties even in the form of a very thin film by using a polybutylene terephthalate resin having a total transmittance and a haze each above a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A light-scattering filmlike object is produced by using a butylene terephthalate resin having a total transmittance >=60% and a haze >=90%. The polybutylene terephthalate resin used is synthesized from terephthalic acid or its esterifiable derivative and 1,4-butanediol and may contain at most 20mol% another dicarboxylic acid, glycol or polyalkylene ether glycol or the like in a copolymerized form, and polybutylene terephthalate resins containing a nucleator, crystallization accelerator, etc., can be desirably used. The obtained object has high transmittance and light scattering properties and therefore is useful as a light-scatting material. |
