PURPOSE:To obtain a magenta light sensitive toner high in color image density even in a small amount of a colorant to be used and comparatively superior in photosensitivity by using a specified cyanine dyestuff as a sensitizing dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:The sensitizing dyestuff to the used is the cyanine dyestuff represented by formula I in which R is CH3, C2H5, n-C4H9, n-C7H15, CH2COOH, C2H4COOH, or allyl; X is Cl, Br, NO3, ClO4, or tolylsulfonyl; a group of formula II is a group of formula III or IV; and a group of formula V is a group of formula VI or VII. This magenta toner contains the zinc oxide as a photoconductor and the cyanine dyestuff as the sensitizing dyestuff in an insulating binder resin, and it is prepared by dispersing them into a solvent or dissolving them in each other, and granulating the mixture by pulverizing the kneaded mixture or spraying the solution, thus permitting the obtained magenta light sensitive toner to be high in image color density in a small amount to be used and adapted to one-shot color system. |
