PURPOSE:To prevent degradation under the conditions of normal processing, a high shear rate, a high temp., or exposure to a radiation or ultraviolet rays by compounding a natural and/or synthetic rubber with specific components. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen-donating material (A) is prepd. by hydrogenating (an oil obtd. by the fractional distillation of) coal tar selected from the group consisting of anthracene oil, phenanthrene oil, tar (light) oil, carbol oil, naphthalene oil, etc. Separately, a hydrogen-donating material (B) is prepd. by hydrogenating an oil with a b.p. of 200 deg.C or higher obtd. by the thermal cracking, catalytic cracking, or catalytic reforming of petroleum and selected from the group consisting of a residual oil of thermal cracking of naphtha, a catalytic cracking cycle oil, a slurry oil, decantation oil, a catalytic-naphtha reforming oil, and a crude oil thermal cracking tar. 100 pts.wt. natural and/or synthetic rubber is compounded with the hydrogen-donating material A, the hydrogen-donating material B, and a least 0.1 pt.wt. component selected from the group consisting of a component (C) comprising a fraction with a b.p. of 160-550 deg.C obtd. from a hydrogenated pitch prepd. by hydrogenating a pitch obtd. by the first thermal treatment of a petroleum and/or coal-derived heavy oil and a component (D) comprising a fraction with a b.p. of 160-550 deg.C obtd. by the secondary thermal treatment of the hydrogenated pitch. |
