The tester loads ID's of a subscriber interface unit (SIU) and a telemeter value and detects the kinds of the fault of the telemeter and the SIU. The tester comprises a micro controller (100) for controlling the system according to the I/D instructions, a ROM (200) having the test program, a RAM (300) for accessing data by the control signal transmitted from the micro controller, a keyboard (400) for inputting test instructions, a SIU interface unit (500) for providing the power to the SIU and forming a I/O data loop of the SIU, a modem (600) for modulating and transmitting the data to the SIU and for decoding and providing the received data to the microcontroller and a LCD (700) for displaying the data of the microcontroller.
