PURPOSE:To reduce the overlap of the photosensitive wavelength regions of two or more photosensitive and thermosensitive layers and to independently record color images by incorporating a specified compd. as a photopolymn. initiator into one or more of the photosensitive and thermosensitive layers. CONSTITUTION:Two or more photosensitive and thermosensitive layers each consisting of microcapsules contg. an electron donative colorless dye and a photosetting compsn. contg. an electron accepting polymerizable vinyl monomer and a photopolymn. initiator are formed on a substrate and a compd. represented by formula I or II is used as the photopolymn. initiator contained in one of the layers. In the formula I, X is halogen, Y is -CX3, -NR', etc., R' is alkyl, substd. alkyl, aryl, etc., and R is -CX3, alkyl, etc. In the formula II, R<1> is alkyl, R<4>CO-, etc., R<2> is H, alkyl, etc., R<3> is alkyl, etc., R<4> is alkyl, aryl, etc., and Z is a counter anion. The overlap of the photosensitive wavelength regions of the photosensitive and thermosensitive layers of the resulting polychromatic photosensitive and thermosensitive material is reduced and color images can be independently recorded. |
