Device which comprises a structure with wheels, for application to railway tracks in the area provided for stopping the train, and it supports a rotary drum on which a cord is wound, one end of this cord being attached to the ground. The drum has a number of seats or cutouts into which enter a plurality of band-type wheel-locking devices which may be actuated by means of connections placed in operation by the translational movement of the structure with wheels.
