Bracing struts for motor vehicle body - form cruciform structure connecting two longitudinals chassis

The motor vehicle with a self-supporting body, has a floor with two longitudinal members (2,3) fastened to its front end in the region of the front wheel suspension. These longitudinal members are connected to each other by cruciform bracing which is constructed from struts (12,13,24,25) and a central joining piece (20) to form a symmetrical structure. Two of the struts (12,13) are straight and are inclined at an angle of approx. 45 deg. to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The other two struts (24,25) are curved. This form of bracing structure increases the torsional and lateral rigidity of the vehicle body.
