The length measuring rod (4) is inserted in the anal channel (1). The end inserted has a rod head (5) of larger cross-section than that of the rod (4). This head is spherical, conical, olive, onion or curved wedge shaped with a rear surface (50) bordering the rod. The latter has heads of various cross-sections according to the anatomy of the patient. The rod can continuously broaden from the head. A slidable adjusting ring can facilitate read-off by being brought against the rectum upon rod insertion. ADVANTAGE - Exact, reproducible simple measuring at lower level of discomfort for patient.
