The foldable furniture unit has several adjoining hinged plate-like elements which can be erected from a flat state into a useful position. The flat plate-like elements (1,2,3,4) are combined into a train of four wherein each two adjoining flat elements have the same overall length in the direction of the train in the manner of a parallelogram. At least three flat elements are divided across the axes of the hinges (16,17,18 and 19,20,21,22, and 23) by sections (5,9,13) off-set relative to each other. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easier handling and folding of furniture units.
