PURPOSE: To reduce a cost and to provide a desired small design allowance by rotating a punch provided with several parallel ridges in the shape of a two-plane body around the vertical axis and continuously working the corresponding ridge. CONSTITUTION: While a slide 18 alternately performs a translation operation along an axial line (y), a working area 11 along an end edge 21 is ground. When a first path is completed, a dividing head 15 is rotated for 180 deg. and work along the opposite side end edge 22 of the punch is repeated while maintaining the same position of the dividing head 15 along the axial line (y). The dividing head 15 is rotated at the time of the respective paths, the slide 18 is moved forward to the punch until a comparator 20 detects that the nominal distance of the side face of the ridge 12 is reached and a process is repeated for several times. Thus, connector plates 5 are turned to be the completely same with each other from the view point of the positions of grooves 6 and 8 and a dimension and are made freely suitable and a highly accurate matching state is realized between optical fibers housed in the groove itself. |
