PURPOSE:To prevent wrongful copying by means of a device other than a private device, to reduce the space, and to improve the quality management by effectively combining an ID code dependent upon a ROM and the code of a dip switch. CONSTITUTION:A peculiar ID consists of the code of an M-bit dip switch provided in a digital information processor and the N-bit ID code stored in the ROM. At the time of writing the peculiar ID on an optical disk, the dip switch of an individual device is set. The ID code of the ROM set by a mask ROM is read out by the processor, and the code of the dip switch is read out and is written in the start of the ID sector of the optical disk. Thus, this optical disk is not driven unless the device having the code dependent upon the specific dip switch is used and the specified code is inputted. Consequently, wrongful copying by means of a device other than the private device is prevented, and the space is reduced, and the quality management is improved. |
