The engine test bed with a braking arrangement and engine (4) mounting frame (3) has a coupling (5) for connecting the engine drive shaft (6) to the input shaft of the braking arrangement mounted at a fixed distance form the frame. The mounting frame has a displaceable carriage (9) for mounting and fixing the engine under test. The coupling contains a chuck (10) with radially movable jaws (11) for forming a force transfer connection to the drive shaft or to a component rotating with the shaft.
