<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate an unnecessary blank discharge and to obviate a temperature change in a recording head by providing blank discharge control means for setting a driving pattern at the time of recovering operation of energy generators corresponding to discharge ports based on an immediately previous recording image information. CONSTITUTION:A head 5 has energy generators corresponding to discharge ports, and discharges liquid droplets from the ports synchronously with a driving pulse applied from a driving pulse applying circuit 4. A recovering operation for a blank discharge is conducted only for the port which does not record. In this case, recording information is integrated by an integrator 7 at the respective ports, and averaged. Further, a blank discharge pulse number controller 8 determines the number of pulse blank discharges. When a blank discharge signal S2 is input, the blank discharge is conducted in the number of the pulses determined by the controller 8. In the blank discharge pulse number control, blank discharges are conducted at the port which does not discharge is conducted by 1000 times, by 800 times if the integrating and averaging duty is 10%, and not conducted if the duty is 50% or higher.</p> |
