PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal coloring composition with good dispersibility for a thermosensitive sheet free from uneven coating and excellent in coloring properties by containing 2-alkyl(or alkenyl)-1-hydroxylethylimidazoline. CONSTITUTION:For the purpose of obtaining a thermal coloring composition, 2-alkyl(or alkenyl)-1-hydroxylethylimidazoline is mixed with a coloring compound, developing compound and high molecular compound and, as occasion demands, with a filler heat-fusible compound and other additives and dispersed in an organic solvent. Preferably, however, the coloring compound and developing compound are pulverized and dispersed separately and the necessary quantities thereof are mixed together just before coating or printing. Preferably, also, 2-alkyl(or alkenyl)-1-hydroxylethylimidazoline exhibits its action as a dispersant and its alkyl or alkenyl group is C7-C23 in the number of carbon atoms, and its usage is within a range of 0.05-20% in the weight ratio to the thermal coloring composition to be dispersed. As a result, it is possible to obtain a thermal coloring composition facilitating the preparation of a thermosensitive sheet, in which uneven coating is hard to occur and coloring is in high concentration. |
